I thought I’d try something new. Many of my blogging friends post a Wordless Wednesday. So I thought I would try “Thoughts for Tuesday”. Not sure if anyone else is doing it-so let’s give it a whirl.
This post will be co-authored with my daughter Carly (age 3).
Carly
Which castle does sleeping beauty beauty booty sleep in?
How can the moon and sun be out at the same time?
How do the paper towels get into the paper towel holder?

Potty Requirements
Yes, it’s true. My daughter has an aversion to some bathrooms.
Let’s be more specific—some toilets.
Those would include:
-those with an automatic flush automatic flush
-those with a loud flush
-stainless steel bowl (Philadelphia Zoo)
-those with anything floating in the bowl (I also have an aversion to these)
-noisy people in the next stall
-stinky bathrooms
So, I get the automatic thing. I put a post-it or tp over the sensor.
But any suggestions to the rest would be appreciated…
Luckily bribery with candy still works. We’ll see if our dentist notices.

Help! I'm stuck!
Carly recently moved to a full size bed from a crib. Things have been going pretty well. And then the other nite, ten minutes after going to bed, I hear this blood curdling scream. I run upstairs and open her door. In between screams, she said she was stuck.
I thought she may have slipped between the mattress and the frame. Manufactures now put at least a 4”-6” gap between the two.
I put the light on. I see a big hump under the comforter at the foot of the bed. I pick up the sheets and look Carly in the eyes. She was completely frightened and still screaming that she was stuck. She managed to get lost under the sheets at the foot of the bed. She seemed really confused as to how she could even end up there. I could not help but chuckle.
Mystery solved.

A mom after my own heart!
I was recently traveling to Orlando for a conference from a flight out of Philly. For those who are not familiar with flights to Orlando, they can be jammed packed with kids heading to Disney. I would say this flight was 80% kids. Very cute, all very excited. I sat next to a mom that appeared to be very nervous. But extremely well organized. She was travelling with her two kids (3 & 6) and husband. They had been saving for this trip since the first one was born. The lollipops were segregated (by a Ziploc bag) in the diaper bag for take off. Special toys were introduced mid-flight. And then, she pulled out the “vacation plan”. It all looked so familiar. A calendar with all scheduled activities and times noted. They even appeared to be color coded. There was a table of parks, restaurants and hours. An envelope that looked like a bill sorter held all tickets and reservations. There was a complete list of “must see” activities. And, she was reading and taking notes from some discount Disney guide for kids. She rocks!!!! And then, the final move, triple checks the process for using the Disney Magical Express Transportation. And my husband always thought it was just me…..
And did I mention her husband slept the entire flight?
You rock girlfriend! Hope you & the family had a wonderful time!!

On vacation?
Yes, we are on our 2nd annual post labor day vacation in OCNJ. So far, the weather has been perfect. And the car ride here--quiet!!! I can't believe it. Anyone that knows my little girl knows she likes to talk. And talk. But she fell asleep half way in. Yay!!!! Forget the adult conversation. It was nice being able to complete my own thoughts.
In case you want to know, ocean water tastes "saucy".
And what would my blog post be without a little potty talk.
The latest Carly revelation is that her poop looks like chicken nuggets and they must be thirsty-so we should flush.
More later. I am off to have some fun!

Lifeguard Duty & Launching Rockets
It's been a fun filled packed weekend. We went to a 2nd birthday party in Margate, NJ. After the party everyone went to the beach. What a great idea!!! No moonbounce rentals required.
Carly loves the beach. Especially the water. She loves jumping waves! But sometimes it is fun to play in the water filled oversized puddles that occur on the beach. Not sure what the official name is, but they are perfect for little kids. Mark and I were standing next to one watching Carly play with 2 other little girls in the "puddle". One girl was Carly's age, and the other was almost one. The young grandmother was also with us. For about two minutes. Then she left with one of the girls. That's right. Simple math--she started with two kids, and left with one. Hello!!! Don't assume that we will become your daughter's lifeguard, parent and supervisor. I would be more than happy to help out if you ask, but please don't just walk away leaving liability with us......
Anyway, on a happier note….
If you have any young children or need a present to buy, I highly recommend the Ultra Stomp Rocket by D & L company (not the ones sold at Five Below). It is under $20, and provides at least a ½ hour of solid entertainment. No assistance required. There are 2 versions, Ultra and Junior. I believe Discovery Kids Toy Stores carry them. Brilliant I say!!!
